90's life and my evergreen love…

Saturday, September 06, 2014 By , 20 comments

I still remember my 90s life. There were minimum resources available. No peer pressure in comparison to what I feel today. Internet was a by-gone thing. And, all day long I only craved for the clock to strike 5 in the evening. It was my playtime which was so endearing to me that I could do anything for that. I could even wake up at whatever time one would ask me to play a game of cricket or soccer. I was that big a sports lover. However, there were limited games that I was fond of and basketball wasn’t one of them. Unfortunately, its consequence can be seen by the people who have seen me in real life.

I remember that big playground which was common for every sport whatsoever. From cricket, football to piddu and even an out of the blue cycle race were held on the same ground. Sometimes, all at the same time. There was no scarcity of players in those days. Call for one and get 3 more players for free. Even, everyone was a Sachin, Messi and Osain Bolt in their own way. And, almost everyone had their pet field name. Mine was Michael Clark.

I still wonder why that guy named me Clark because I was an all-rounder who was capable enough to perform in both batting and bowling. On the contrary, Michael Clark is more of a batsman. I guess, that guy who named me wasn’t aware about Cricket that much. Anyway, I was elated to get a name to the least because there were ample of others who weren’t nick named yet. But, today I realize that it is difficult to build a reputation of your own than to acquire somebody else’s. I was naïve back then and such big things were far fletched for me to contemplate about.

I remember that football-cum-run-behind-a-ball-game that had no rules on the field. The only time people used to stop when the ball had crossed the goal post making a goal or no goal, whatsoever. I and my friends were crazy back then. We watched cricket but loved playing football more. For us, Ronaldo was the only player of football in the whole world. Everyone wanted to be ‘Ronaldo.’ However, majority ended up getting sardonic remarks, like, ‘Bada aaya Ronaldo banne chala he’ and many more.

Now, the time has changed drastically. Fields have turned into beautiful enclaves. We have grown up both physically and intellectually too. Everyone is busy with their life doing some or the other thing. Everyone is running to win a race, but not in the field. But, in spite of all these things, one thing that still persists is the sportsmanship. I can’t testify for others but even today if someone would ask to get up in the morning to play any sports (except basketball), I would be the first one to reach the field. And, I’m happy to retain that love for sports till date in my life.

Life and a window seat

Wednesday, September 03, 2014 By , 2 comments

It seems like; posting anything on the blog after a month has become a habit for me which is hard to change. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to be more active on the blog. Of course, being the most active blogger is the ultimate aim of everyone who blogs (added with ample of readers). And that is mine too.

This!

Anyway, the fact that I’m here (and you are here too) always entitles me to write something to grip your attention till the end and in the process satisfy myself through expression of thoughts. Well, the latter being the more significant part. That being said, it doesn’t mean I don’t love your presence. Your presence is deeply respected and delightful for me which goes unsaid.

Keeping everything in mind, here I come to the point. This morning (that’s not important) while travelling through a bus, as always, I was looking outside the window. I was lucky to get the window seat like most of the time. It is my favorite. Reason being, if you dislike something which is going inside the bus, all you got to do is to stare out of the window. This one thing has always motivated me to get that seat by hook or by crook.

Sitting on the window seat and looking outside at random people doing random things is itself very interesting. At times, it is even motivating it its own way. You see ample of things, like, children going to school or bunking, whatever; shopkeepers resting in their shop and passing time by watching something on the mini-television. Likewise, there are many activities that go on and on. And, we just pass through them.

This gives me a sense that life never stops at any point. It goes on and on, showing its every colour to us. Testing us, tricking us, but ultimately teaching us something in the end. Life is full of colours; we just need the right eyes to see those. By this, I don’t mean that you should go to an eye specialist. It is philosophy; it automatically comes while you are graduating. Just, from engineers, it comes out more quickly.

Well, talking about philosophy, there is a self-made quote: Philosophy comes out when you are heartbroken, married, wasted or you are an engineering student. Well, the last part can be replaced with any course and it will still work. Since, I’m an engineering student, so putting it upfront was necessary. It is called brand promotion. Marketing people would know.

Anyway, the post has come to an end and without a farewell card or treat I would like to thank you for being a ‘Musafir’ till the end of this post. May be, it wasn’t the best of the post from me, but I’m very sure that you must have enjoyed the journey from the start till the end! After all, the most fascinating thing about reaching a destination is the journey we go through.

Tea, biscuit and stress

Saturday, August 09, 2014 By , 6 comments

Huff! It was 25th of July when I penned down something for my blog. And, trust me, between that day and today, I didn’t feel much of a gap as I couldn’t manage enough time for it. With that being said, it doesn’t mean I didn’t miss this place and its readers; of course, I did miss everything!

Sometimes, this is all you need!

So, finally today, I made up my mind to scribble something up. Initially, like it always happens, I was nil with what to write, literally! Then, I thought maybe I should go with some topics of relationship. See the irony, I’m single, but I love giving love-tips to people who ask or don’t ask for it.

Anyway, I kept shifting from 1 topic to another in the same category but didn’t feel the urge to pen down anything whatsoever. So, I finally decided to go with the flow and started writing whatever came to my mind. Aila! You are still reading it. Seems like, it is not that bad.*Pat on the back*

After a while, the clock showed 5pm and it was my tea time. I wished somebody would come with a cup of tea and Parle-G to offer me, but such wishes hardly come true, especially when you have committed a sin in the past.

It was 10 years ago (omg! I’ve aged) when out of the blue I asked my mom with an endearing smile on my face to teach me to make tea! Such an innocent kid I was, who was totally unaware of the tough times he would be facing ahead because he just learned to make tea. Had somebody penned down “Things not to do as a child”, the current scenario would have been different. Then, aunties from the colony wouldn’t be enjoying a cup of my tasty tea every time they have found me at home!

Anyway, I don’t regret it to that degree as I’ve written, as it has helped me survive many times. Especially, when I have had come back after playing a game or cricket or soccer and found that nobody was there at home. At that time, it was my skill (if you call it so) of making tea and finding out the biscuit successfully from ample of containers that helped me survive the post-match stress.

By the way, talking of stress and biscuit, then Parle-G has always been a life saver for me. And, not just for me, but for a lot of people as well, I suppose! If you are stressed for something, just sit back with a cup of tea and some Parle-G. Dip the biscuit in the tea, take it out and put it in the mouth to savor it before it breaks to leave a stain on your clothes. Eventually, you will be relaxed and stress free all the way through!

I wonder why people get drugs for feeling better! May be, they are not aware about the awesome combination of tea and Parle-G. Too bad, they waste a lot of money; instead they could just be fine by putting up Rs 10 for a cup of cut-chai and a packet of Parle-G.

P.S: I hope Parle reads this post and offer me ample of money out of sheer love, which I wouldn’t deny taking! :D

What a “Smart” phone demands?

Friday, July 25, 2014 By , , 2 comments

It has been weeks since I didn’t post anything on the place where I used to hang out the most, my blog. Ah! Life can truly keep you busy, doesn’t matter how vella you are; seriously!

Smartly Captivated

Well, talking about “being busy”, I see almost everyone busy these days. Whether those people are literally busy or not, only GOD and they know, but they look busy to me somehow. Apparently, they are seen busy with their cell phones. Oops, I must say “smart phones” which are smarter than them. No offence!

The Truth!
Now, I guess, you have a slight idea about where we are heading in this article. Of course, I will be bashing the smartphones and their users a bit. But, don’t take things to heart. It is for your greater good. So, just sit back, read and enjoy! Cheers. Clink!

The Picture Says A Thousand Words
I still remember those golden days when having 1 phone in a family marked as a status symbol. In those days, there was tranquility all around because of the same reason. Nobody was running behind creating and improving their social identity because internet was almost unknown and inaccessible thing. Truly, those were the days of sheer bliss and tension free life. You just can’t disagree to it, can you?

But, after the advent of smartphones, actually, affordable smartphones, everyone is up to something. They are always into exercising their thumb and fingers unnecessarily with a mild smile on their face and a thousand thoughts in their mind. And, surprisingly, they are so much obsessed with it that they completely ignore the things going around them. Or, whether people are getting infuriated with their act or anything like that! All they are busy is in interacting with people of their own kind, the “social life is all I like” people, even when their own real identity is getting damaged.

All The Time!

The situation is so worse that if you go to a restaurant or anywhere with your friends, as an example, all they would do is “tik tik tik”. Everyone gets so busy in their “smart phones” that they forget they are not behaving like “smart” people at all, not anymore then. This has resulted into lesser interaction among friends or relatives since a few years back.

Anyway, enough of talking in regards to cons of smartphones and its excessive use. Undoubtedly, there are advantages of smartphones which we all know very well, right? The idea here is just to convey people that smartphones demand smart use so that it helps them in life. It is an aid and not drugs to get addicted to. So, it is highly recommended to use it wisely and nicely to make the greatest use of the time available and not to waste it.

Do Smart Use, Remember! -_-

P.S: Do value people around you, be it friends, relatives or anybody, above your smartphone, because, the latter can be brought again, unlike the former, if gone. Tada!

#HASHTAGS #HASHTAGS #EVERYWHERE

Thursday, July 03, 2014 By , , 18 comments

Are you annoyed of watching people EXCESSIVELY use #HASHTAGS on Facebook? Well, then you are at the right place. Come; let’s bitch about those people a bit. More than a bit actually!

Just Like This!
There was a time when hashtags were only limited to a few sites, like Twitter, Instagram etc. But, on June 2013, Mark Zukerburg unleashed the biggest prank of the century by introducing hashtags to Facebook. Although, it was done to tag similar posts together, but that didn’t happen as anticipated. It rather became a medium of spamming and displeasure which is a severe thing as it is continuously increasing with an alarming rate. Don’t believe me? Go check your Facebook wall.

Seriously!
Now when I scroll down my Facebook home page every now and then, I get to notice, and I’m pretty sure that you might be observing it too, a lot of posts with unnecessary tags. People have gone crazy I tell you. Instead of writing a full sentence in english which would actually make sense, they put a hashtag before every word to make it look like an encrypted code. A code that is hard to figure out at the 1st glance. Sach me!

True That!
I suppose, the main reasons behind committing such an odious crime are two: First, people want to bring on a change for a greater bad. Yes, greater bad, because it is shamelessly killing grammar and its entire family like a psycho killer. On Facebook we don’t have a word limit (of 140 characters) like that on twitter, so don’t shy away and write full sentences to make it easy for other people to understand. Trust me, they would appreciate it.

Please, Stop It!
Second reason is, undoubtedly, to show-off. Else, why would anyone on GOD’s great Earth do such a pointless thing? It brings them nothing, not even the Facebook likes, trust me. The only thing that eventually happens is too much spamming which is not good either. But, who would stop? No one, as this is the trend.

#Washroom #Emergency #BowelMovement #HereItComes #Relief #Sigh!

See, how ridiculous your “trend” looks! So, control it, please. Here is an example of how to ACTUALLY make use of a hashtag. Note it.

The bitching party is over. Now, be my guest and share this post. Together we will save the planet from the hashtag hijackers. :D

Things That One Should Never Do On Facebook

Saturday, June 21, 2014 By , , 11 comments

Everybody loves to hang out on Facebook now and then whenever they get time (well, there is always time for Facebook, isn’t it?) We do variety of things over there, like; the most common one is to judge other people through their status and comments. Also, we love to chat, comment and scroll the page down doing nothing but clicking on random images that give us a sense of bliss. In short, we keep ourselves entertained in some or the other way.

Yup! That's Right.
However, while having fun, we commit some really silly things that eventually hinder our public “image”. Things that we wish we wouldn’t have done, but sadly the die has been cast. Yeah, you get it, right?
Anyway, don’t be forlorn pondering over it, as I’m here to help you with the same. Following are the things that one should never do on Facebook. Take a look and make a note because your “public image” is important (to you):

     Cry about your life
Well, being sad at times in life is natural and happens with everyone. But, crying about it on a social platform is highly unacceptable to other people. Yes! That’s true.

Not Diary, You Get It?

Studies have shown that people dislike those persons who constantly put statuses about how dejected they feel and are gloomy about their life and stuffs. So, if you are sad, then call somebody up and have a long talk instead of putting it on Facebook, as the latter will never heal but burn.

     Show love
Alright, Romeo and Juliet, I understand there is a lot of love between the two of you and that is good. But, have some personal space to bring it out instead of spitting it out on Facebook and eventually make other people (singles) jealous of their life.

Not Here Guys!
Well, not just the singles dislike it, but other people also feel odd in that lovy-dovy ocean of compliments, kisses, hugs and an endless list of things. Minimize it, as this effects your social reputation which has been scientifically proven through a test.

Selfies
Ah! Selfies are the best way to show your washroom and your pouted face; wouldn’t disagree to it. But, what is the need to post a selfie in every 10mins?
People are already familiar with your washroom, its minor details and even your face. So, what is the need to put it over and over to harass others? Control it. This will save you from a lot of latent mockery. Not kidding.

He Is Right!

     Tagging people
Tagging is not bad if done at worthy places. But, are you nuts to tag other people in your profile picture? What do you get? 4 extra like from those 42 other people, huh? Grow up for the love of your prestige and stop committing such a sin of tagging people to senseless photos and stuffs.

Yes, I'll :P

     Stalking
You are smitten with a beautiful girl through her profile picture, and then you start to stalk her through any way you can. You start sending her countless messages, some pickup lines and what not? You try every tricks and tips from ‘Get your girl in 7 days’. And, eventually, what happens? She hardly replies and your whole mehnat goes in vain.

You Must Do That
Bura laga na? Harkate hi kyun patakte ho? Do not do such things on Facebook or anywhere else, as this only wastes your time and are highly unscrupulous.

Gaming request
We have a champ here who excels in various Facebook games. Alright, champ, here is the thing, send those non-gamers one more request of Farmville and they will burn your field and kill your cows. This applies for every game out there. So, do not send game requests to people who don’t play it, as that can be highly hazardous. Soochna janhit me jaari.

Yes! You Can

Poke-mon
I intentionally put that poke-mon instead of poke, because if you do that thing to people whom you don’t know, then they sure will put you in a pokeball and send you to team rocket who would sell you out. That was too much pun.

The Nation Wants To Know The Reason

The point is; do not poke people whom you don’t know. Or even the people who don’t like it, as that irritates them. Stop doing it for the sake of your stature. Thank you.

Thank you...

“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”
― John F. Kennedy

I have finally completed (read: survived) 3 years of my college life and trust me, it wasn’t easy at all. And during this period of survival, I have got in touch with a lot of people, a lot. People who have been mates, colleagues, life savers and what not? Everybody had their own contribution in some or the other way. Few among those people are my seniors.

Too bad I couldn’t be there on the signature day, though I really wanted to be. I had a lot of things in my mind to scribble on your clothes which sadly couldn’t be possible. So, I’ve taken this time out to thank you for the part you have played in my life.

Here is a sweet short message for everyone who has made a difference in my life and with whom I feel connected in some or the other way:

Akshay Sharma sir: You have been truly delightful and a really cool guy.
P.S: Beard suits you. ;)

Abhijeet sir: You are a very passionate person who has plans for everything. You inspire a lot of people through your attitude and ever-disciplined nature. More than happy to be touch with you. Wish to stay in contact. J

Akrit Kashyap sir: It was great to be working with you in the college Editorial board. You always see the good in others and that is one of the best qualities you possess. I don’t you how you remain so calm all the time! Bdw, I wish you were present on the Farewell day.
P.S: Good that you are back on Facebook. :D

Aditi Chauhan ma’am: You are perky, frank and easy-going. Hope to stay in touch with you in the coming time as well. J

Aditya Verma sir: You are really sensible and considerate. Your wife will be really happy. Glad to have met you. J

Ankur Shrivastava sir: You are very talented and ebullient. Not to forget, notorious as well. Glad to have met you. J

Anusha Kashyap ma’am (aka Anushree Gupta): You are the 1st senior with whom I got in touch. Ever since that time you have been exceptionally amiable, considerate and a problem solver for me (and my batch). We will be in touch, I know, that goes without saying. J
P.S:  Apna name Facebook pe change karo please :P

Avni Yadav ma’am: You are an epitome of beauty and brain. Need I say more? ;)
Stay in touch!

Aarushi Upadhyay ma’am: You must be surprised to see your name on this list, isn’t it? Well, I never said that it was utterly for my current seniors, did I? And, that you did play a goody-goody ma’am part when you were here, so 1 vote of thank to banta hi he. J

Anurag Kashyap sir: Wish I could give you ‘The Problem Solver’ award. You always had some or the other solution to every problem that I used to bring to you. Also, I find you pragmatic. Mauka mila to milenge zaroor. J

Jaya ma’am: You are more like an elder sister to me than a ma’am. You are exceptionally sweet and full of potential to do anything. We share a lot of things together, like, the same locality, same college bus and I’m friends with your brother as well. We will be in touch J

Maryada Jain ma’am: Why are you so shy? Bhopalis are not shy! You have been always good to me. Stay in touch. J

Monica di: I know you since the school days. You have been an all-rounder all the time. You are very pretty and I’m sure, a lot of people must have complimented that. You have always helped me during tough times and I’m thankful to you for that. Hope to see you soon. J

Narendra Sir: Kya personality he sir aapki, seriously! We both are Thakur (yes, I’m as well), but personality wise I stand nowhere in front of you. Not just this, you are very supportive and a lovely person to interact with. Hope to stay in touch with you in the time to come. J

Namita ma’am: You are really amiable and one of my favorite seniors. Will stay in touch. J

Kshitij Sir: I simply go speechless when it comes to you. You are really frank and a masti-khoor at the same time. Hope to see you again. J

Roopal ma’am: Wish I could be as articulate as you. You are one among those people with whom I feel like ‘apna-pan’. Unlucky on my part that I couldn’t meet you before you left the city of lakes. But, my spidy senses tell me that we will meet very soon. J

Poorva Sharma ma’am: We 1st met during the farewell and ever since that time we have been in touch. I find you affable and intelligent. Delighted to have got in touch with you! J

Saransh Sir: Aapka koi ‘Saransh’ mila nhi mijhe. Isliye pura pura hi likh deta hun. You have been of a great help all the way through. Most of the Shivanis that I possess are yours. Thanks for your selfless contribution. Not just this, you are soft spoken as well. Kabhi khelte he cricket, aap, mein aur baaki ke 20 khiladi without Bagpiper soda :D

Paresh sir: You are my all-time favorite. Bas, thoda sa khafa hun, Bhopal aate ho aap and 1 bar bhi milte nhi ho. -_-
Yahi dosti, yahi pyaar? :PPP
P.S: Your treat is awaiting. :D

Pallavi di: You passed out last year and I couldn’t meet you. We have known each other since 5th grade and that binds us even more. I still remember that strange encounter near the college gate after which we reunited after aeons of years. Stay the way you are. Will be meeting very soon. J

Shahrukh Khan: Mashallah, kya height he aapki sir. Also, you are really sweet and down-to-earth. Bandiyan marti he aap pe. ;) Mazak nhi kar raha! :P
Stay in touch! J

Shreya Agrawal ma’am: We share the same school and that sure is a thing that bonds us together. Hope to see you soon. J

Snigdha ma’am: It was highly appropriate to give you ‘Ms. Graceful’ award. You truly deserve it. Moreover, you have been very helpful and of a great inspiration. Will stay in touch.
P.S: You are very shy. :P

With that being put, it doesn’t mean other people didn’t have any contribution at all. I’ve memories, though little, with almost everyone which I will savor for the rest of my life.

In the end, I would just say, there is nothing good about goodbyes if there is no certainty of meeting again. So, I would be delighted if we luckily get stumble somewhere or put up a get together in the time to come. Also, if you ever require my help, I will be more than happy to do that and vice-versa (I hope). Best wishes for the new ventures that life has in store for you. J
